My daughter Ruby (now 10) and my son Jake (now 5) both attended Via Nova for pre-school. We love the school and love the teachers. In particular, we felt that Via Nova gave both our children a great start in learning social skills and empathy for others. The teachers are incredibly adept at handling the kinds of conflicts that arise between preschoolers, and giving the children language so that they can learn to handle their own conflicts.
Other things we love: Franca is a kind and thoughtful director. The play yard is one of the best I've seen in the East Bay. The curriculum is child-centered, with lots and lots of time to play.
It is a great relief as a working parent to know that your kids are not only safe but happy while you're away from them. I have no hesitation in recommending the school to others.
I have been an elementary and middle school teacher for 14 years and know that a child's pre-school education is quite possibly the most formative educational experience he/she will have. My family has been so impressed by Via Nova. My son's teachers are amazing in how they engage and challenge every child, with a unique approach to each one. The daily projects are incredibly creative and our son is thriving there. The entire staff works to create a close-knit community among the students and their families and we are so appreciative of their work.
The staff and teachers are fabulous. They really understand our "slow to warm" daughter. They help her with transitions, self-regulation, and navigating age-appropriate peer situations. Communication between staff and family is open and easy. The facility is great: its welcoming, convenient, and kid friendly with healthy snacks and fun activities. The garden and outdoor play space is a safe and wonderful world for kids to explore.
The community of families is amazing! Our daughter has made a few really solid new friends, and so have we.
